Wilderness
‘How do you respond?’
‘Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing’ James 1:2-4.
Jesus Christ was already complete but He still had trials. He knew He had to be alone 40 days in a wilderness. He did not like the unexpected pain and suffering as any person, but the Spirit of His Father led Him into the wilderness for a purpose. He did not complain, or cry in self-pity, or punch the sky wondering what God was doing to Him. In the desert he was tested and prepared to change the world. This is the highway of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Savior of all of us on Earth. Many who want to be like Him will undoubtedly follow this road, because to be like Him you have to follow Him. It is an unavoidable journey when you are in relationship with the Holy Spirit of God. Being led by Him (Romans 8) can take you into a wilderness that will get you ready, and prepare you for your purpose - it is God’s way.
Character changewill inevitably occur in your Christian journey, as happened to many men and women of God in the Bible. It is often found in the crucible of wildernesses and deserts, in whatever shape, form, and timing they take in your life. It is a place, time, or season, that forges Christ in you – if you let it be. These important times can produce stronger revelation in you in being His beloved. You truly discover what it is to know Him and how magnificent He is, and it is in Him alone you only put all your trust.
How do you respond when all hell is breaking loose, and life is just a hard wilderness? Your right responses are vital for your future in God. Stephen’s tenth book brings understanding to the concept of wilderness, and that walking through it is not always a negative or failure, but often the doorway to the fulfillment of God’s dream for you. ‘How do you respond?’ Find out by downloading the book today.
