Alan-Cohol
and the Stimulants
- Should we or shouldn't we?
Alcohol use has been a finger pointing issue for years in Christianity.
There have been many extremes and legalism in the abstinence and use of
it. The boundaries of worldliness have become very blurred in various contemporary
church cultures. Many younger people and newer Christians are blissfully
unaware of God’s wisdom in these areas. Great prophets and leaders
have fallen to Alan’s intoxication and immorality in recent times
- ‘should we or shouldn’t we?’ is a question many ask.
In the beginning God created grapes. He knew man would make intoxicating
drinks, ‘wine that makes glad the heart of man…’ Psalm
104:14-15. God also knew man would sin and go hard for forbidden fruit,
swimming on the dark side of excessive behavior. Adam and Eve had only
one choice presented to them in the Garden of Eden - today we have a multitude
that could be good or evil for our lives. The continuous use of some can
numb brains, cause heart attacks, ill health, or create addictions and
cravings hard to control. ALan COHOL and the Stimulants can become human
comfort rather than God: defile our temple, contribute to sin, or break
Christian disciplines.
What are the Bible boundaries to keep man from the dark sides of alcohol,
drunkenness, and immorality? ? Was Jesus really a winebibber? Who is the
drunken harlot mystery Babylon? Should prophets drink? Should Christians
and leaders drink and stimulate to excess in an already intoxicated world?
Is it worth dulling our hearts and gifts? The end-time Church is now being
called to draw close to the Lord, be intimate, and truly know Him with
reverence - to be glorious, set apart, holy, and governmental in apostolic
power. Jesus said, ‘narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which
leads to life, and there are few who find it.’ Matthew
7:14. We must
understand God’s wisdom for all these questions in light of the end-time
apostolic Church and the days we live in. ‘Should we or shouldn’t
we?’ – read Stephen’s provocative book and you decide! |
