Prophet
Musician
As a result of my journey in the early-late eighties, as a growing prophetic
Christian musician, I wrote a few fledgling articles on an old ribbon
typewriter - the seeds of being an author! By the time this book was released
in 1995, I’d had much more experience in ministry, church staff,
and touring. I began to see more, write new preaching and teaching material,
fresh songs and thoughts. I also saw prophetically that the Church was
getting ready for massive change in the near future. This subject matter
was new and fresh in the early nineties and very few were using the terminology
of a prophet musician – I had written for years ahead. We are now
finding a new hunger for prophetic and apostolic understanding of the
governmental end-time call of musicians, singers, and artists.
The world has changed dramatically in recent years. Many musicians and
singers who carry the anointing of a prophet musician have walked a journey
and paid a dear price over the last 20 years or so. In this hour of the
closing of an age - and possibly the time of the Lord’s return -
there is a sound in the Spirit of God that will carry truth and glory within it. It’s a new thing, as spoken of by Isaiah the prophet
(Isaiah 43:18), watering dry wilderness places in both the church and
the non-church world. In 1987 the Irish rock band U2 released a great
gospel song of paradox, Still haven't found what I'm looking for - a catch
cry of many in today’s world, Christian and non-believer alike.
There is religion, and even music that God gets tired of; it becomes just
a noise in His ears, even though it may be great and contemporary. God
hungers for the truth of who He really is to be revealed on the earth,
beyond all the religious facades of man’s ways. “
I
hate, I despise your feast days, and I do not savor your sacred assemblies,
though you offer me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not
accept them, nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings. Take away
from me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your
stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, and righteousness
like a mighty stream”’ Amos
5: 21-24
The music became a huge clamor of confusion and a vexation of spirit,
a great commotion of a multitude of songs that disturbed God and agitated
Him greatly. There was no freshness - churned out with no heart and lacking
what He was really wanting them to say. In the book of Revelation 18-19
we see a finish to all music and the productive arts and their trade in
this present Babylon world system. All that will be left to hear, is the
sounds of songs from Heaven and the awesome thunderous praise of those
who have their hearts embedded in the purposes of God. Now is the time
